Here are a few stories from our talented artists.
Sunil Dalekar
Polio Infected artist
Sunil Davekar born as normal child in Mumbai. At the age of 2 he suffered from polio in which he lost the sensation of his both legs and his right hand. His left hand was having very little movement. After several treatment he could recovered only 40% of movements in his left hand. He joined school of special people at the age of 9. Here he started getting interest in painting using his left hand. He participated in many school competition and the journey of the artist began.
Now Sunil is an acrylic painting artist mostly works in abstract. He has done some solo exhibition too. He also has hobby of playing harmonium and plays cricket too.
Monika
Mouth artist
Monika was just 8 years old when she lost movement of her body due to fever. She even lost her voice during that period. Later, she recovered her voice but could not regain movement of her body.
She was forced to discontinue her studies as her school refused to accept a student like her, fearing that she would disturb other students. But Monika didn’t give up. After a gap of 5 years, she continued her education and, through her own efforts, completed her graduation. She uses her mouth to write.
Monika is now learning to paint on canvas using acrylic colours. We are trying to support her in every way possible with her training, materials, and guidance.
Ranjan K
Foot Artist
Ranjan was born in a very poor family of Kolkota. By birth with deformed arms he faced many challenges. With his ability to work with foot he learned to draw and paint which resulted into making him an artist. He completed his education in fine arts. He has an experience of more than 15 years and is expert of all acrylic, watercolor and oil paintings. His art works are original and eye catching.
Ranjan also give art tuition to more than 300 students and inculcate all his skill and quality in his students. His stays with his elder brother’s family and has a dream to have his own family.
Ritik Kohli
Foot Artist
Ritik is a 18 years student of grade 12. He is very intelligent in studies. His both arms are deformed born. His family background is very poor. His elder sister is working hard for running the family and Ritik’s education. Ritik has lots of interest in art. He wants to continue his education in fine arts and wants to contribute his support for the family. We are helping him to achieve his dream. Along with study he is also practicing drawing and painting. He makes beautiful pictures for prince, princess and cartoon characters.
Mahajbeen Khan
Polio Infected Artist
Mahjbeen is a very talented artist making amazing paintings. Her paintings are high leveled are remarkable. With professional degree in fine arts she is running a family of two girl children as a single parent. She was left by her husband after having two children as she was disabled. Then she decided to take care of her children by selling paintings. She has participated in many exhibition.
We are helping her to sell as many art work as we can so that she could earn and save sufficient many for her and her children’s future.
Sunil Kumar
Foot Artist
Sunil is a foot artist from Chandigarh. When he was four, he faced an accident of electric shock due to which he lost his both hands. His parent left him in the hospital considering him as burden to them. He was then shifted to an orphanage where he lived and completed his 12th.
Sunil loves to paint with watercolor and makes beautiful paintings without being trained. We are supporting him to get professional training to develop his talent and to make him independent.
Sunil is just 25 years old and his dream is to become renowned specially abled artist for which our organisation is providing all type of support he required. We are also looking for his further education to develop professional skills.
Vinod
Specially abled Artist
Vinod born with both legs deformed, stays with his family in Mumbai. His family is running through lots of fanancial crises. His father suffering for several disease and diabetes lost his job. His elder brother alone is taking care of the whole family of 7 people. Vinod wants to share the responsibility of his brother.
Vinod has now started painting again which he has left as never got any support. He is again practicing and learning so that his improved work can bring some money at home. Our organisation is helping him by providing free material and opportunity to sell his art work.
Mohoni
Specially abled Artist
From a small village of Maharashtra Mohini is just 22 years old. She lost her hands in an accident but did not give up. She has completed her graduation in Computer Science and looking for job in Mumbai. Mohini also has the hobby of painting. We are supporting Mohini to keep practicing her talent so that she can earn for her self till she gets a job. Mohini is excited to keep her talent on going and wish to take professional training for this too. She wants to become an independent girl with both her computer and art professional side by side.
Shabnam
Specially abled Artist
Shabnam belongs is a lower middle class family who is supporting her family of single mother by doing small craft work. She being poilo effected is completely on whiles. Shabnam makes beautiful calligraphy paintings and is also a mahendi artist. She is putting all her efforts to learn acrylic paintings so that she can support her family more better way.
Manish
Specially abled Artist
Manish a B.Com graduate has 60% disable by his left hands. He makes sketches and paintings that are very attractive. He is determine to convert his hobby into talent and also as career.
